Becky Brett

Becky Brett Board Member of The Ledge Theatre Los Angeles

Board Member

Becky Brett is an arts leader and executive coach for artists, content creators, and performing arts entrepreneurs. Her mission is to create opportunities for joy and connection.

She is also the creator and host of the Relentlessly Human Tour, a movement of radical acceptance, love, and kindness aimed at rebuilding the joy and connection at the root of our shared humanity.

You can find Becky on her podcast, “Virtual Executive Director,” on Instagram at beckybrett.live, and on her website, BeckyBrett.com.

Recently Becky served as the Interim Executive Director of The Princeton Festival (Princeton, NJ) and as Executive Director of the Virginia Highlands Festival (VHF) in Abingdon, Virginia.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Becky spent her early career in Chicago with Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Chicago Humanities Festival, and the Chicago Improv Festival (among other organizations). She has produced international arts programs and festivals since 1992.

In 2012 she came to Abingdon to become the first-ever executive director for VHF, a 70-year-old arts and culture festival organization.

While at VHF, she launched several pilot programs to innovate programming. These programs have included “The Wolf Crystal” public performance art project; a series of culinary arts events highlighting the rich heritage and inherent creativity of food production in Southwest Virginia; and “Plein Air Abingdon,” a 3-day springtime spin-off festival from the summer flagship event. “The Wolf Crystal” was the subject of Becky’s TEDxHickory talk in November, 2019.

Since 2016 Becky has been advising, consulting, and coaching creative leaders, helping them increase revenue, improve communications, and build strategic partnerships. She believes it will take a great deal of creativity and innovation to right the wrongs of this world, and she is committed to supporting those who are the driving force for innovation.

In her personal life, Becky is a foodie and supernerd. Prone to spontaneous dance parties and bursts of song, she can be found at the gym, any new restaurant or live event, or on the couch cuddling with her dog.

For The Ledge in Los Angeles she is a Board Member with focus on Fundraising strategies.
